05 · Advantages of Veterinary Laboratory
A complete veterinary laboratory enables animal hospitals and veterinary clinics to perform fast, accurate and comprehensive in-house diagnostics. By integrating a veterinary hematology analyzer, chemistry analyzer, urine analyzer, PCR machine and immunoassay analyzer, veterinarians can evaluate blood cells, organ function, urinary abnormalities, infectious pathogens, hormones and biomarkers in one diagnostic workflow. In-house veterinary diagnostic equipment helps shorten turnaround time, reduce dependence on external laboratories, improve emergency response, support pre-anesthetic screening and enable continuous treatment monitoring. A well-designed veterinary laboratory also improves workflow efficiency, diagnostic consistency, patient management and long-term operating efficiency for modern animal healthcare facilities.

A veterinary laboratory may include a veterinary hematology analyzer, chemistry analyzer, urine analyzer, immunoassay analyzer, PCR machine, blood gas analyzer and coagulation analyzer.
For most small-animal hospitals, the three core systems are usually a veterinary hematology analyzer, veterinary chemistry analyzer and veterinary urinalysis system.
A veterinary hematology analyzer measures blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. A veterinary chemistry analyzer measures biochemical substances such as liver enzymes, kidney markers, glucose, proteins, minerals and electrolytes. The two systems provide complementary information rather than replacing each other.
An in-house veterinary laboratory allows selected diagnostic testing to be performed directly inside the veterinary clinic or animal hospital instead of sending every sample to an external reference laboratory.
A 3-part analyzer groups white blood cells into three broad populations. A 5-part veterinary hematology analyzer separately identifies neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils, providing more detailed leukocyte information.
